wpa_supplicant failes after following tutorial by Xploitz
Hi,
i hope someone can help me with a crazy wpa_supplicant problem.
Couldn't find any help after hours of searching the web.
I try to connect to my network following the Tutorial "Wpa, TKIP". I have an Intel 4965 NIC.
I get the following error: (The interface "wlan0" is the right one)
root@slax:~# wpa_supplicant -w -Dwext -iwlan0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

Using Backtrack I get exactly the same.
But NOW THE "FUNNY" THING:
Using wlassistant on Backtrack I first can't connect... but after switching wireless off and again on it works!!
Unfortunately that doesn't work using my USB-Slax. I compiled wlassistant und wpa_supplicant from the sources and followed the instructions for wpa_supplicant, also replaced the *.conf file as described in the tutorial and changed the ESSID and the key. I'm sure I did everything exactly the same as in the tutorial.
WHAT IS DIFFERENT IN BACKTRACK?!
(using wlassistant I even copied all the files, checked the permissions...)
Could someone help me?!

What is the adapter you are using?
