How to stop John The Ripper from encrypting User

I have a list of user:rawmd5hash that I made up to test, and it works fine decrypting the MD5 password, but in the .pot log it encrypts the User so I can't see who it is but I can see the decrypted password. How do I stop JTR from encrypting the User so it leaves it in plaintext?

My list is in this format:

user1:md5hash1
user2:md5hash2

In case anyone is confused by the question, the resulting .pot file is like this:

user1md5encrypted:user1md5hashdecrypted
user2md5encrypted:user2md5hashdecrypted

And I have no idea why it's encrypting the username instead of just leaving it in plaintext as it was in the first place in the file.
