Trouble with Belkin F5D7050 (another newbie)

Hi all another newbie having trouble getting my USB Wirless stick to work.

I open it up, and the chip has an RA logo and the identifier: RT2571WF

Searching the net i found out it uses the rt73 driver but am unable to get the stick to do anything (light on stick never flashes)

Am i fighting a loosing battle, is it possible to get this stick to work?

Always perform a search before posting a thread.it has been said 1000 times.first thing you attach USB stick after properly booting BT.then use this command
lsmod
lsmod rt73
it will show your rt73 chipset related detail and whether drivers got loaded or not.
if still no help then
ifconfig rausb0 down
modprobe -r rt73
modprobe rt73
now dont use ifconfig rausb0 up
use airodump rausb0(monitor mode)
or iwconfig rausb0 mode managed essid <essid> key <key> (Infrastructure mode if WEP configured)
use wpa_supplicant for configuring WPA/WPA2.
it should work now.

To me it looks like you are able to put your card into monitor mode just fine, what exactly is it that you are trying to achieve and feel like isn't working?

you better understand the problem Tron.from output I can see its already added into monitor mode.
you need to use just
airodump-ng rausb0 then you can see light on stick is flashing frequently but not continuously.

I am able to scan for networks now with Kismet and it works, finding mine and a few other wireless networks, although the light never flashes. But the stick just seems to die as soon as i try anything else, even reloading kismet and re scanning nothing is found.

So it only seems to work once at any initial task then i have to reboot for it to work again.
