Got My WEP HexCode! ...Now what?

Okay I know I might get flammed for this but I need to ask...
Why the hell is my WEP code in Hex and incorrect?

I mean some of these hex values don't exist like 88 and 84.
Wtf?! I have no idea what to do! I printed a paper with the hex,
dec, html and characters to see if it's actually my code but some
of the hex values don't exist.

Is there some other processing I have to do?

Ex. [00:49:88:84:31]

wep encryption uses a hexademical key to encrypt and decrypt data. there is no why thats how it works. when a wep Access Point receives a packet it decrypts it by using the wep key(if source address is not authenticated it discards it...). if it understands it, means that the client is encrypting data with the same wep key before it sends it to the air. btw the hex values you are talking about are right, theres nothing wrong about them.

What is "non-HEX" about 88 and 84 (or, &H88 and &H84)? They look like pretty good HEX numbers to me.

It's in hex because that is what WiFi uses - if you enter an ASCII key, it will either be converted to the equivalent ASCII character codes in hex, or be passed through a key generation function which creates an obfuscated hex version. This would explain your "incorrect" hex.

Yes, you need to start processing google.com, the wiki, etc. And you need to make sure it's your own WEP you are breaking, because your post certainly smells fishy.
