Getting belkin n wireless 8053 working
Hey as you probably guessed I suck at Linux (newbie area)
I have got backtrack 2 and 3 on seperate discs and both are working fine
but I have trouble with my wireless card, I will list everything I know about it here:
Belkin wireless n dongle
F5D8053
v3000uk
no current drivers for any operating system except windows
Ralink chipset
I opened it up and on the card it says
"RT2770F
GU2470D0
0732ST"
and near that it says "P/N: 14175120000J R01"
I have been searching for 3 hours on this, I found a few ways but they were either way too complicated or just didn't work (most of them were all on ubuntu forums)
I am happy to help in every single way possible I can (testing software etc etc) and would be glad to solve this problem, unless it has been solved?
I am not sure what else I need to tell you, I will try basically anything to get it to work as I have never had internet on linux and would be very happy for a solution!

Further details....
Start up bt3 with the dongle (and if possible nothing else usb) plugged in then open a shell (black thing, bottom left of screen) and type:
dmseg | grep usb
followed by:
lsusb
and post up what the outputs read.

Hey TT, Was wondering if this thread was rapped up else where or if it just died? I have the same USB NIC. Followed your post, here is what I got back:
bt ~ # dmseg | grep usb
-bash: dmseg: command not found
bt ~ # lsusb
