Default What Am I Doing Wrong? Apart from repeatidly not being able to follow the forum rules

    Hi,

Well first of all i'd like to thank you for taking a look at my post. Now am a Linux noob but I preety much no my way around everything else so i've been learning this too by going through lots of posts on this forum. I have Backtrack 3 Final setup on VMware all working fine. I have a Alfa Network AWUS036H 500mw which also connects fine and shows up on Backtrack 3 fine. What I am trying to is see if I can get my own networks WEP. However whilst trying to do this it looks like im doing some thing wrong as im not sending packets only recieving.

This is what I have done so far:

    My Routers Mac: 00:16:01:ED:FE:CF
    My Routers Name: Maserati
    My Routers Channel : 1
    My Adapters Mac: 00:C0:CA:1E:20:AE

First of all I have started up Kismet and found the network this also puts it into monitor mode.

    Then I put in:
    airodump-ng -c 1 -w network.out –bssid 00:16:01:ED:FE:CF wlan0

Next I put this in anothe shell to test:
    aireplay-ng -1 0 -a 00:16:01:ED:FE:CF -h 00:C0:CA:1E:20:AE -e Maserati wlan0

    And lastly:
    airplay-ng -3 -b 00:16:01:ED:FE:CF -h 00:C0:CA:1E:20:AE wlan0

The problem now is it shows:
Read packets 7404 (got 0 ARP requests and 0 ACKs), sent 0 packets...(0 pps)

and in the airodump-ng it shows only 10 packets.

What have I done wrong and thanks again for reading. I appreciate all your help.

    Thanks
    KA551M
