The kernel headers can be found either in the USB version of BT3F or downloaded at the following location:

Just download the kernel.lzm file to your root directory and use the following command:
    lzm2dir kernel.lzm /
    -Monkeys are like nature's humans.

I have an ATI Mobility Radeon card as well. Mine is the X1400. This is how I installed my graphics driver.
    bt~# chmod +x
    bt~# ./
A gui will pop up and just follow the prompts. Once you are done exit your session by going to the K menu and click on logout and then click on "End Current Session". This will bring you back to the command prompt. Then type this to update your xorg.conf file.
    bt~# aticonfig --initial -f
    bt~# startx
And now your ATI drivers are installed. AFAIK you don't need the kernel sources installed. But I could be wrong.

    Default ATI problem solved

    Th posts below are golden.

They worked for me on my HDD install with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600.

    Download from amd ati support.

Follow th directions from =Tron= about copying kernel.lzm from usb to / and so on.

Then follow th simple steps outlined by larryhaja.

Now using a combination of configure display and ati ccc all sorts of resolutions and dual monitor options are possible.

Thank you both for leaving these little gems here.
