    Default bt3 install probs

    Hi

    When i try and install bt3 it gets to 45% installing then hangs had it installing for neraly 2 hours and still now moved its when it gets installing /pentest

    Any ideas what this could be as bt2 installs in less than 20 mins

    Did you make sure that the media was made correctly?
    Did you check this thread out ?

    Hi,
    I have no problem booting off the cd, When i go to install bt3 onto my HDD all goes well till it gets to 45% installed it then does not move at all even though the cd drive is showing activity.

    I'm almost 100% sure there's something wrong with your CD. If it's showing activity it's having trouble reading something. That's my guess especially the way you described it. Re Burn it again. If it's spotless then somehow your last burn didn't go 100% smooth and it's having trouble reading something off the CD.

    Again this is my guess. Remember all the tips to burning the .iso in other stickies.

    Hi, will try reburning now, one more thing is it possible to burn the ISO to a DVD instead of a CD?

    UPDATE

    Downloaded a new ISO image used a different brand of disk got to 81% installl before it locked up again this time it stopped while installing /usr

    confused lol

    Mine took about 3 1/2 hours to install and stopped in the same places.
    It finally ended and now I get "missing operating system"!

    Gah!! I'm off to try again

    FIXED ; )

    Ok fixed, heres what i did
    1, used magiciso instead of nero
    2, wrote disk at 24k instead of full speed

    thats it

    The /usr is a rather large component of BT so this will normally take a long time (the longest part of the entire install).

    Again as was stated before you have to burn it at the slowest speed setting you can.
