Default no way to right click in macbook = usless HDD install

    umm...us[e]less
unless you use an external mouse, of course.

Maybe i am not using the right keyboard command to simulate a right click. (ctrl click, etc.) I tried a ton of variations but could not get the right click menu to come up.

Without a way to right click the install is useless. No access to any progs, including the term. unless:

    A. i dont know of a keyboard command to bring up the terminal
    B. My install is somehow bad. unlike the live cd, there is no desktop shortcut for the menu or console.

So, it would be great if a macbook bt3b hdd install user could verify that they can or cannot right click w/o an external mouse.

If this problem is a real bug then it is an important, and hopefully easy fix for the final release.
    thanks!

If holding down the control key on your keyboard and clicking dont work, you could try reassigning the keys.

    Code:
    xmodmap -e "keycode 116 = Pointer_Button2"
Don't think this post should be in the fixes, but suppose thats up to the powers that be

    Hope this helps

    Code:
    xmodmap -e "keycode 116 = Pointer_Button2"
    hi thanks for the help,
i entered in that code, didn't get an error or anything but control click still will not bring up the right click menu.

in case key 116 would correspond to some other key i tried most of the other keys on my keypad to no avail
    any other suggestions sir?

    For a temp fix try...

    Code:
    xmodmap keycode 116 = 0xffbe
This should blind right click to your f1 key.

Let me know how you get on.

ok, i entered that code in just like you typed it but got a bunch of "unable to open file messages". I cant do a copy paste so i will attatch an image.

as you should see i also tried this code with the quotes and the -e since the first code you posted did not result in any error messages.

and i also made sure f1 hadnt somehow been bound anyway. no right click action as of yet.
    Thanks for your help doc

Ok never mind Don't know why it didn't bind ? You could also use mouseemu.
