When I'm doing VA/Pentest work I don't usually have big requirements for editing text. vi and kwrite usually fit the bill. On Winblows notepad or if I have to write/debug code sometimes TextPad.
Favorite Text Editor?
I don't want to start a religious war but I'm looking for a little information from power users.
What's your favorite editor? (note: I'm trying to be politically correct by not asking for the "best" editor)
I've been using Kwrite & Nano, both seem to be sufficient but I'm curious about what other members typically use.

I'm a compulsive post editor, you might wanna wait until my post has been online for 5-10 mins before quoting it as it will likely change.
I know I seem harsh in some of my replies. SORRY! But if you're doing something illegal or posting something that seems to be obvious BS I'm going to call you on it.
I guess I'm old school, I prefer 'vi'.
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

I suck at vi although I can use it. I like nano or kwrite is fine too. I need to get one of those mugs.
