Dear Linux-BT Users
i always used windows...since 3.11and i knew there was linux but i really did not care
i got some other linux versions at home but to get to the point
i got a Linksys WUSb54GC..
(i know,i know...i used the search button and stuff but just to know for sure)
iam using the latest bt (final) live cd and everything works great (omg 10x greater then windows)
any how..
when i use the arp request and the deauth...everyting just dies...its sending arp but captures nothing and kismet doesnt responds anymore/aerodump also stops responding...
my question is: do i have to update my drivers if so...to which ?
i see so many![]()

best thing is to
download it
extract it in a dir
cd to install dir
ifconfig rausb0 down
unplug your adapter
type this :
rmmod rt73 && make && make install && modprobe rt73
plug your usb adapter
ifconfig rausb0 up

i extracted it to desktop..and compile it (with the command ''make'' right?)
and then i typed:
rmmod rt73 && make && install && modprobe rt73
getting this:
ERROR: Module rt73 does not exist in /proc/modules
ROFL :D
well
try the rmmod and modprobe rt73 respectively unload the old driver & load new driver so .....normally it's good
try it command after command
cd to the dir where you dl it (inside Module dir)
rmmod rt73 (not a pb if error)
make
make install
plug your card
modprobe rt73 (you must have no error)
ifconfig rausb0 up
iwconfig rausb0 (you must have your card up in managed mode now)
strange because it's the way i reinstall my drivers ....
and i use this rt73 based card for years now....
