Probaly a KDE problem

OK well first problem is.
Whenever bt2 is running. (i have it installed to hd dual boot with xp)
and i close the lid.
Screen goes black and i cannot seem to bring it out of being black.

Second problem.
I want to change that little splash screen taht comes up when you logon that shows all the things it is initializing. Can anyone tell me how.

i dont mean the screen at startup while all words run down the screen initializing the processes.
I mean the scrren that pops up once u startx and it says initializing components.

I knew which screen you meant, and I know there was a thread where it was discussed how to change it.

ok last thing.
been searching around and im pretty pleased with what ive got.
but anyway.
ive got leetmode.
Yakuake.
both my boot splash and regular splash screen changed.
any other usability kind of things i could change?

for starters, use dark, simple backgrounds and dim your backlight, this saves power, good for the planet, and good for those times when you need that little extra battery power. there's a fun little module on the slax modules page called 3ddesk, that's a pretty fun thing to play around with, or to "wow" your friends with. install the .mo then hot key it. hit the superkaramba button in the top right for anymore themes/widgets or misc. also a simple:
slapt-get --update
slapt-get --list
will do nicely if you read the explanations very, very thoroughly (be connected to the internet when you do the update command). and last but certainly not least set your homepage to google and hit up not only the items in bold but anything else you can think of. take care.
