BT5 : ipw2x00 firware ()

Ooops , looks like a firmware trouble with old (!) laptops.

My machine returns these same results. I have tried downloading the v3.1 firmware and the device shows up as eth1 but doesn't function properly.

Update: I also tried v3.0 of the firmware at http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/ with no luck. I'm not yet sure that the card won't connect to anything, but I cannot get it to scan.

exactly same problem there, i've got an ipw2100 card which worked fine whit that firmware

Hi,
I try with a HP dv 4270 with a BT5,

modinfo ipw2200 shows version 1.2.2kmprg of driver.
so I try firmware 2.0 (http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/firmware.php) with no success yet.

firmware 2.0 gives no wireless extention while 3.x gives a non working eth1.

I did try with the 2.1 firmware (ipw2200-fw-2.1.tar) where the 4 files : ipw-2.1-boot.fw , ipw-2.1-bss.fw , ipw-2.1-ibss.fw , ipw-2.1-ucode.fw are in /lib/firmware/

It works ! ;-) /*also after a cold boot */

it worked with 3.1 firmware for me, i'll test for monitor mode soon
just download the firmware copy to /lib/firmware/ (removing old drivers) and than
rmmod ipw2200
modprobe ipw2200
it should work

Well, not for me. The card worked on FW 3.1 but not the monitor mode.
When i command: airmon-ng start eth1
I have a message telling me that mon0 there is no such a device!!

Any help?

I can't make it to work either in BT 5. Even if I start the device into monitor mode and run airmon-ng it turns off the monitor mode after a while.

Any old BT ISO works with ipw2200 out of the box?
