Default How to find out what kind of wireless chip laptop has?

I booted backtrack onto a new laptop (lenovo T400) and the internal wireless is not recognized. How do I check what kind of internal wireless it has, and find the driver to install?

You might want to google the laptop and find out what card it has in it and go from there but being a question like this I don't see it being on here very long. So for future reference use google its your friend.

your google skills are lacking. A quick search on the spex of your model suggest that it's an Intel XXXX (you go and look it up).

    have fun.

Let me google that for you

It's disheartening that you couldn't even look this up for yourself. But, the really disappointing part is that you're trying to use a specialized Linux distro and don't have this detail memorized, how do you buy a laptop without knowing its specs? Why would you be trying to use a Linux distro aimed at Network Security professionals and not even know what network card you have?

I'm a compulsive post editor, you might wanna wait until my post has been online for 5-10 mins before quoting it as it will likely change.

I know I seem harsh in some of my replies. SORRY! But if you're doing something illegal or posting something that seems to be obvious BS I'm going to call you on it.
