I want to crack my WEP
I have a card like this:

I run BT4 at VirtualBox on Vista. I selected my card like this:

I did /etc/init.d/networking start and I can ping google (my host os is connected).
I managed to mount CD, copy and extract 2009_0302_RT2870_Linux_STA_v2.1.0.0.tar.bz2
Do I have to copile it? All I've done is
cp RT2870STA.dat /etc/Wireless/RT2870STA/RT2870STA.dat
iwconfig returns
http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/421/beztytuu5o.jpg
iwpriv returns
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/1259/beztytuu4l.jpg
airmon-ng start ra0 returns
http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/8189/beztytuu6u.jpg
now's the problem

I doesn't show any networks while my windows adapter shows many.
What did I miss or did wrong? Did copying install driver? Do I have to compile it to make it work?
Do I have to bridge connections with my host os to crack wep ?
I wonder how you can get some AP. Because in VM i cant launch the card in monitor mode airmon-ng not sew it but i can see in usd devices my card. Maybe you try in network connections in VM use the bridge options at place of the NAT.
personally if i was going to go and play with wep "been there done that in '06" i wouldn't start networking in bt4. I'd also make sure that i don't have dhclient running because it wants your cards in managed mode, and sometimes it can block airmon-ng's ability to put cards in monitor mode. Its easier just to ifconfig interface up. airmon-ng start interface. or..if you want to really make it easy..use gerix wifi cracker...but you won't learn anything.
bt4newbuser only way you can do that stuff is if you connect to your usb wifi adapter in vmware and enable it, search the forums you man and the answers you will find
