What the heck happening?

Guys n00b here, having problem (yep,indeed since this is my first time using BT.)

I'm using macbook pro (3,1) 2.2Ghz processor,running boot camp OSX snow leopard and windows xp.

8gb sandisk flash drive
BT4 final.iso
unetbootin-windows-471

Now i follow the guide installing BT4 in usb flashdrive,then reboot. But why my usb flash drive can't be seen in boot option?

After reboot then pressing ALT/OPTION in mac to see the bootable device/disk, bang! there's no usb drive or BT4 there?


anyone can help me?

Well maybe the BIOS doesn't have USB boot O_o
Go with that flash drive to another computer and test it, if it works than its from your BIOS if not it's from the flash.

yep i tried in different computer(not mac) still it doesn't work,might be i missed something?

Apple computers do not have a BIOS, they have EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface). Try google to find if anyone has successfully got a bootable usb flash drive to work with the standard EFI, last time i checked nobody had. You might also want to check out rEFIt.

ok i got chance to tried again for the 3rd time with my neighbor's PC. Finally i made it to boot but,prompted with this error: "No Default or UI configuration directive found."

Any workaround? can anyone point me out to the right direction.

I really wish people would stop trying to use Backtrack with Macs. It's painful to get working, and when it does eventually/maybe start working, it's a pain to keep working. Pick up a $50 laptop(working) off Flea-Bay, it will work better.

I was just trying to maximize my capability of Mac's. before, i was thinking that i don't need windoze laptop. Since i can run them in my Mac thru bootcamp.Now i learned that i need to have even a 50$ laptop.But it should be running linux this time.sorry but i really hate windoze.

I already told them to shove my Mobile Me account up Job's ass a couple months ago. Wouldn't hurt my feelings any if they killed my technician certs. I doubt they will though. They like getting that $200 every year from me. I still thing running a Jasager at one of the Keynotes would be funny. See how well the next iToy handles goatse.
