Hi
I have an alfa awus036h I have an aftermarket antenna thats just like the stock one only longer.
Neither of these give great results picking up my wifi single from the house whilst in the shed and tend to drop out when someone microwaves something.
So ideally I need a replacement.
This site is local to me so I wouldnt have to wait if they have anything suitable
ABAKS - Antennas GSM, Antenas WLAN WiFi
Ideally I want maximum range. so what should I be looking for? IS the alfa a good dongle for range?
would this be a good antenna to buy?
Yagi - - Yagi 18dBi with cable Belden H155 PE - ABAKS 2,4GHz
Yes that will be great, yaggis have a fairly thin beam-width so make sure the antenna is pointed pretty accurately toward the source signal.
Sometimes I try to fit a 16-character string into an 8–byte space, on purpose.
Get this and pwn your subdivision lol
DealExtreme: $23.04 2.4GHz 100W 18dBi Directional High Gain 18-Unit Antenna for Wifi/Wireless Network (SMA)
dont mind the description, Its really 50ohms
I believe its also rp-sma even though the pics look like sma
and if that doesnt work poo-poo the FCC and get:
DealExtreme: $60.45 2.4GHz 2000mW 802.11b/g SMA Broadband Wi-Fi Amplifiers/Booster
if youre cheap and crafty with a soldering iron, you can always make yourself
a bi-quad antenna or circular waveguide (cantenna)
Waveguide Antenna 2.4 GHz for 802.11b (WiFi) WLAN
Biquad Sector Antenna 2.4 GHz
Heres a pic of the bi-quad im using, I used a cd covered with aluminum foil tape for
the groundplane
This pic is when I whipped it together;testing..but was obvious..
This is it refined and more covert
Good luck
EDIT: Never mind mute point I found the answer, Mod`s please delete if poss, thanks.
