Updating kernal headers to install madwifi

i have searched and spent hours trying to figure this out and i can not get this to work i am trying to get mad wifi installed so backtrack 4 final will recognizze my linksys wpc55ag v1.3 wireless card which is supposed to have an atheros chipset. the only problem is that madwifi wont install i looked up the error message and from what i have found is that i need to update the kernal now i have linux kernal 2.6.33.3 which i can not get to update on backtrack 4 can somebody please help me.

There is a reason why this isn't possible .
There are also good reasons why the developers choosed that kernel. Have you looked up, if your card is supported ?

i believe it is supported from what i have read it is supported by madwifi but not by athk5
