Can't connect to wireless on Live USB

My wireless card is shown when in lspci -nn, but I'm not able to connect to any wireless networks. So after some searching on the internet I was able to get airmon-ng to show my device as ra0, but I'm still not able to connect to any networks. I can open the network manager, but if I press refresh no essids appear
Can anyone help me?
