Default rtl8187 driver patch on Karmic Koala

My wireless device is using RTL8187 chipset. I am using Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala). This is the built-in driver and injection is very poor (slow..)
I couldnt find a step by step tutorial to patch the built-in driver or i would also like to use r8187 driver but i dont know how to make it work on this kernel. Can anybode help me ?
