has anyone seen or had any experience with these new 1000mw adapters that are on ebay which supposedly replace the alpha awus036h? they use the same chipset.

Why the hell would anybody need a 1000mw wifi adapter?
In some country if you use more then 100mw u can have problems ...And believe me, you don't need 1000mw power adapter in your life. If you are from security sector, that is the another story, but u don't have any needs if you think testing home network with adapter like this one.

wouldn't that much power risk tainting the transmissions of nearby associated clients? isn't that a bad thing? i have never played with that much power on a wifi card
Yea, it would walk all over your neighbor's wifi, and probably screw up the local 2.4Ghz phones as well. You really don't need that kind of power unless you're doing point to point long distance connections.
