    The diagnostic is

My object is to add a printer HP laserJet P1505
I need to start CUPS to do it, but can't load to the service manager.

    Hi najib,
run the below from a terminal to start cups without the use of service manager.

    Code:
    /etc/init.d/cups start

    Unhappy CUPS can't start

Starting of CUPS failed with this message :

    root@njb-backtrack:~# /etc/init.d/cups start
Starting Common Unix Printing System: cupsdcupsd: Child exited with status 1!
    failed!
    root@njb-backtrack:~#

The problem remains, can't connect to CUPS server with system-config-printer 1.0.5
    error message :
    httpConnectionEncrypt failed

    Thumbs up Thank you Miland3r

    Thank you Miland3r,
and to loop4me of course ;-)

    apt-get install --reinstall ssl-cert
    apt-get autoremove
    /etc/init.d/cups start

It solved my problem of printing and adding printer.
