type in /etc/init.d/networking start and ur network should be up...if that doesnt work u have some usefull videos on youtube how to install backtrack 4 and stuff

tho im using VMware virtual machine duno if its same if u boot it.
Do you have an IP?
Can you access other local machines/services things by IP?
Can you access other local machines by name?
Can you access public services by IP?
