help with partitions & installing backtrack
Its ok i have about 9 gb on my d drive (sda2) with my recovery on it. So i want to do is put backtrack on it .And with my c drive that as Ubuntu & Vista on i want to just give that all to Ubuntu.What would i do install backtrack on my d drive first then wipe out Vista with Gparted iso
& would 9gb be ok to put backtrack on or not.
problem im having with my partitions dont want to lose anything.

I am trying to put Backtrack on sda2 witch is 9gb & have Ubuntu on sda1. Wipe out vista they are on dual-boot. & then to have them both on one bootloader.
Just wipe the disk and start over. If I understand exactly what you want to do (and Im pretty sure I dont) you will need to have a good understanding of how to create, backup and restore partitions.

a) Use GParted Live to free the space in sda1 and sda2
b) Use GParted Live and wipe the entire drive (after backing up files)
c) Buy another drive and start clean (hard drives are so cheap now)

its ok ive sorted it now i have gave ubuntu most of my partition and a bit to vista and put backtrack 4 pre on my 8gb usb
