BT4, hacking manual -> rtl8187

Hi all,

I would be greatfull if someone could provide the HACKING MANUAL (procedure for cracking WEP) FOR RTL8187 in CD booted BT4.

Its called Google. the only procedures that are different from wifi card to wifi card is what the device is called. in the instance of the alfa it is refered to as wlan0 normally then mon0 when you put it into monitor mode in bt4.

Why do you want to crack wep anyway ? It's broke and proven to be worthless, in a setting where security is of any value.

Slight derailment, but I don't agree with this mentality (except for in this instant, anyone who requests a "hacking manual" deserves to be taken out the back and put out of their misery) because it is quite often necessary for me to prove to my client why something is broken.

Actually I do believe that's where half of my word-of-mouth work comes from - not from saying "this could be broken", but actually showing why it is.

Anyway, sorry about that, carry on.

While that maybe true in your case, I highly doubt that any serious pen-tester is going to show up here and ask for " the HACKING MANUAL (procedure for cracking WEP) FOR RTL8187 in CD booted BT4" any time soon.
As such my original statement still stands as valid.
