Default Got a password with spoonwep (hex), but it's all garbled when converted to ascii.

    I know..

    I'm a noob so I use spoonwep..

This has happened with 4 APs I've tried it on...

So Spoon spit this out as the key.: edited

When I convert it to ASCII it's some weird symbols.

I've tried connecting to the AP using the exact hex code, so it connects but it doesn't assign an IP address. (as if the password was wrong).

    Any ideas?

Unless you want to remain a noob forever do it the old fashion way with the aircrack-ng suite.
Also leave your neighbor's AP's alone.

If a WEP key converted to ASCII comes out as garbage... then that simply means that the WEP key wasn't based on ASCII text.
Ask questions on the open forums, that way everybody benefits from the solution, and everybody can be corrected when they make mistakes. Don't send me private messages asking questions that should be asked on the open forums, I won't respond. I decline all "Friend Requests".

Telling that you are comitting something illegal is the worst way to make an introduction in a forum.

Since you probably don't own 4 ap"s I'm going to assume you are conducting some illegal activities.
