Did you start the networking daemon?
Did you configure eth0? Doesn't look like it. Just read the error messages from time to time they give valuable hints in resolving issues.
[BT4] Ettercap Problem
I am probably have a simple problem with ettercap. Right now i am experiencing a problem where the device eth0 is stuck when i want to sniff on wlan0.

If you want to use wlan0, perhaps
--iface wlan0
in the ettercaps args might help.
You sure you want to use nopromisc mode, too? There's easier ways to play Bob to your own Alice.
Obviously eth0 is not a wireless interface, but it seems to always come up when i execute ettercap, when I am connected through wlan0? And i am using Network Manager.Originally Posted by KMDave

Well if you just tell him to use -i wlan0 it is like having no learning effect at all.
Tell them the answer and they will come back with their next question. Tell them where to find the answer and they might learn on where to look for their next question.

Congratz, there's many papers about Ettercap i think there's even books!
Go ahead and see if you can find some of them and read those, they will
reveal that Ettercap is actually capable of doing A LOT! More than you think ;D
