Default Which video recording program do you guys recommend...

I want to be able to record my penetration tests. Which video recording tool works best with Slackware 12.0 and has a good balance of cpu usage/visual quality?

Recordmydesktop and I am pretty sure there is a tutorial on getting it installed here somewhere too.

Can I expand this question, I have just installed recordmydesktop, and the gtk, and I have noticed it saves the recording as .ogv (Ogg Vorbis?) file. What conversion programs do you guys recommend to get these to a more 'universal' format?

Can't remember exactly but I think you can change the format it saves in?

There is a program called Lives which will do the conversion and add music if you want.

    http://lives.sourceforge.net/

I made most of my videos a few years back with these tools

OGV is Theora which is a free codec. You can download it from theora.org. If you really need to convert it Avidemux is a good free converter.
