Backtrack 3 final wireless cable connection issue

Specs Of PC:
OS 1: Vista <--primary
OS 2: Backtrack 3 <--secondary
Network Adapter 1: Atheros AR5B91 Wirelessnet work adapter
Network Adapter 2: Generic Marvell Yukon 88E8071 based Ethernet Controller
Modem: Netgear CG814WG
PC: Acer Aspire 5735

Problem:

in backtrack 3, i open up the konsole and type "ifconfig" and it returns the normal stuff


but when i type "iwconfog" i think thats it...it returns the error: "no wireless extentions"

when i try to run Kwlan it runs but nothing works. when i try to open the handbook for it it asks me to create one.

and when i open the wireless assistance thing it makes a sound that sounds like glass breaking and brings up an error when i click ok it goes away back the the desktop...any ideas? i know the login for the connection i need to access its a home account but not the IP i will have to login to my dads PC and get the IP...do i need the routers IP? or which IP do i need and how do i get it?

no i have not. i just got this PC i had a Dell D600 and it crapped out on me.
having this PC and running vista is something im guess im not used to...how do i put my device in manged mode and what are the commands that i need to use?

I've got an AR5B91 as well but can't find the drivers. Are you sure you have the drivers?

i too have the ar5b91 in my toshiba and really want to find drivers for it ... it would be greatly appreciated.

I'd like to know how you managed your Marvell Yukon Ethernet Controller if you did.
Because there is many tools to manage wireless device and connection.
but i don't sea any tools for Ethernet device.

I have the same ethernet "88E8036" and am still unable to get it up and running, anyone have any info/tips?
