bt4-crystal probably created a .xinitrc file in /root so that is what is causing bt4-crystal to start everytime.
Delete the .xinitrc file from /root and try startx again.
hey, I'm having a few issues with BT4-Crystal (though it's quite wonderful), and I would like to go back to the old environment. So I restart my machine (I am using the VMWare image and am running VMWare Player) and type in startx, but it takes me to bt4-crystal.
Ever since I typed in bt4-crystal, I couldn't get back to the old environment. Is this just me? If I were to make a guess, I'd guess it's installed itself or something, but I really don't know. lol
Any help is appreciated, sorry if this has been posted before, but I did search.
By the way, my main gripes with crystal was... I couldn't copy paste. lol. Also, wireshark seems to fail, and the whole thing seems to be a tad slower.. But I would love to see it working!

Why didn't you use the search function? This issue has been discussed already.
Might want to do that in the future.![]()
