Are you trying to hack your router login details, or are you trying to hack your wep key ( the key needed in order to connect wirelessly )?
I have read the rules and this router belongs to me.
I have been trying to retrieve the password from my router for a month now.
I tried Medusa Brutus & hydrs & xhydra . xhydra is running at the minute 24 hours into it. people say why don't you just reset it, I have on many many occasions, but I just cannot get it to run the same as it is now.the router is running five computers, two Xbox 360 one Xbox .the Xboxs are hardwired and two computers are hardwired the rest wireless. I have the backup config.bin for the router. which I have opened but there was nothing obvious I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how to get the passwords from the config file. I am a total virgin when it comes to anything like this I have downloaded the password tutorial, and to be quite honest I could not make head nor tail of the abbreviations. the reason why I think the password crackers are not working, is that the password is a combination of words. I was going to attach the file but I don't know how to lol. any help will be truly appreciated
I am sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place I did search first regards Paul
I tried to reply to the post above but for some reason it will not let me so I am having to edit this one
when the guy set up the router he made a backup copy of the settings called config.bin I can view this file in text editor . what should I be reading? as I said I read the password crack tutorial , I don't even know what half of these abbreviations mean quote{Cracking the NTLM hash using the cracked LM hash}what parts should I be reading can anybody recommend a forum that specialises in this sort of cracking thanks again Paul
PS I am trying to log in to the router username and password not the wap key I have this thanks Paul

Sometimes I try to fit a 16-character string into an 8–byte space, on purpose.

I have just received an infraction against me for double posting. I had to edit my first post a couple of times, because when I tried to reply,to killadaninja the site would not accept it.I didn't realise that they had gone through. It took hours before they were displayed, if you look at my first post and see what time it was edited explaining I could not reply to the site for some reason,
it would only let me edit not reply. I do believe that this infraction is a little bit hash, it was my second post on this forum, I would have thought a warning from balding parrot would have been more appropriate,I did say I was a total newbie. It said that all newbies posts will be moderated, I didn't realise that they read before they was displayed,is this what it's going to be like in the future, where you dare not make a mistake, where's the fun in that. I thought forums was for communities to help and meet each other. what a great way to welcome new members I think I'll give it a couple more weeks to see how it goes before I make any donations
after receiving the infraction I spent the rest of the evening looking for alternative forums, who may be a little bit more tolerant towards newbies,
ps how long does infraction last for, and before I receive another infraction for asking a previously posted question I have searched the frequently asked, and the forum
Yeh this is not the most noob freindly forum, if you do decide to leave dont forget to donate first

hydra has been running for three days and nights, I will give it a few more hours and then I will turn it off. I am going to call the engineer. And have him reinstall the whole network. It costs £50 three years ago I bet it's now up to £150
