There are several different revisions of the DV6000 laptop i believe.. On some of them BT2 will work right out of the box, and others (such as mine), not so much.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000t, and I too had problems.. I had to compile a newer kernel to support my hardware as nothing was recognized, and the lspci command showed nothing..
Try running lspci on...
Hmm, setting the capture channel flag usually works for me.. I'm using the latest build of the madwifi-ng drivers.. Do you happen to know off hand what atheros chipset your card is using?
I've actually had this happen to me on many occasions, and I've found that locking airodump on a specific channel # helps.. Using the -c<channel#> flag usually does the trick.

It also has a lot to do with the way your LAN is configured. For example, if you have both wired and wireless connections, then chances are the traffic from each will not be broadcast to the other.

I've disabled acpi and i wasnt able to capture at all, aswell as having issues with my video card. and i never had wlassistant running while capturing.

I tried out the v2.6.22.2 kernel and everything worked out well. I have bt installed with working sound/video/usb/etc.. I'm a happy guy now! ;)

I did check it, and It's wrong in this case.. HP may have made different revisions of the DV6000T and put different hardware in it. In my case nothing is detected.
