Hi, about upgrading the kernel basing on those 2 tutorials,they are the only way to upgrade it because I been searching online all the time , If you want to upgrade it then you need a little bash...

I followed each step in that tutorial , any by the way I had to modify the install.sh file to get it working with me , I mean not just the variables in it, anyways I installed it and within the boot...
