Could someone please guide me through this?...
hey guys, today my AWUS036NH arrived, I have to say i am impressed with the range.
Just have some strange problems with it that I'm sure will be fixed with a driver update.
Just plugged it in...
whew... was starting to panic there, good to see you got the problem solved.
Supposedly mine arrives tomorrow =)
uhh, what is wrong with
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
am i missing something?
Cool script btw :D
is there a *free* online paper or ebook I can read?
I would love to purchase some of your work but I'm a bit short on cash at the moment D:
okay, so from what I understand is the SSID is in some encrypted packets being broadcast, yes?
What is the best method in revealing an SSID? From what I understand the SSID is broadcast in the...
no, i understand perfectly well.
You use the tool mdk3 included with backtrack 4 r2 to bruteforce ssid's so you can connect.
go to /pentest/wireless/mdk3/
execute ./mdk3 --help ...
Of course legitimate users would know it and choose to 'connect to a hidden network'.
But if it is hidden and pretty much not bruteforceable to the attacker, he cant connect right?
I was under the impression that if the ssid was hidden, you could not connect to the network unless you bruteforced it/ran it against a dictionary?
curious as if the issues I am seeing with awus036h also affects awus036nh
I guess I will have to wait until my awus036nh arrives. You guys aren't making me feel very secure about my purchase!
...
has everyone overlooked setting the SSID to hidden and making it long and complicated, hard to bruteforce and something that wouldnt make any wordlist in any language?
or am I missing something?
are you willing to help
?
instead of 10000 packets like most say sometimes you need up and past 50000.
have you tried messing with
Section "Screen"
in xorg.conf?
use fix-vesa command
then play with the Section "Screen"
installed tcpxtract then ran the script.
getting errors on this line: "$XTRACT"tcpxtract -f /root/$SESSION/$SESSION.pcap
running script as root...
anyone else got this problem?
Thanks!
I read up on http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=airodump-ng and scrolled down to the Hidden SSID section.
Turns out my router doesn't send the length but some do.
Thanks again....
hey,
my router is set to hide the ssid, which I have set to belkin for this experiment.
according to the tutorial i used the network in airodump-ng is supposed to report the length of the...
shouldn't you be running 1920x1080?
noob question: is it true that you can ARP over WLAN instead of LAN?
