Trying to use Nvidia on Intel graphics that's a new one  . To answer your question yes it's possible. I run dual screens on my netbook with Intel graphics. Here's a hint: xrandr
With the 1000mw you may see an extra 4-5 APs. Though IMO it's not a huge boost from the 500. Prices have certainly dropped, I remember paying $85 odd for the 500 back in the early days. All depends...
This should help: Wireless Card USB . Out of curiosity why are you wanting a new adapter ?. Myself & many others still have the 500mw and it works great on BT4. The difference between the 1000 is...
I find this interesting since you're inquiring about DoS attacks. Also in the past you've asked on three separate security related forums wanting tips/help on how to crack WPS. Which tends to come...
There is at least one tool in BT that's capable of performing a DoS against AP's. Why you'd want to DoS your own AP is beyond me. I would search Google, the answer is out there to find.
If you re-compile/update the kernel, you do so at your own risk. The forum really won't be able to offer support. As you've found out it can and most likely will break BackTrack.
You've had some good replies and hints already. I still stand by my first reply, you need to start to read & research. Understanding one of the penetration testing methodologies would give you an...
Easy fix: push the reset button on all your AP's and start over. Or get in the same room as them.
Apparently enough laying around they "forgot" they had. Remarkably all plugged in & powered...
I fail to see the problem. If you need a player then install one, VLC doesn't take long to install & runs fine. A video player isn't needed by default, as with any OS just customize it to suit your...
Currently it appears not much
Read up on security & methodologies
To answer your questions: yes...yes...yes...of course
Apart from double-checking that the wireless is enabled in the BIOS. If you run " /etc/init.d/networking start " , what is the output of ifconfig after that ?
Yes the 500mW & 1000 models run fine on Vmware. As SV mentioned the awus036Nh isn't well supported currently.
I left my mind-reading hat in the other room. What error would that be, is there a question somewhere here ?
Any reason you're still running Pre-final instead of BT 4 Final ?. As streaker mentioned is DHCP enabled ?, what about MAC filtering ?
While not officially supported this might help: Update to Firefox 3.6 nice and clean in back|track 4 - final
 The answer is staring you in the face literally. Try reading that screen again
Other then what's already been said that BT isn't the best distro to be learning Linux on. I agree with Micole, the above is the main problem I can foresee.
Maybe that's why very few read the...
Well clearly not that good since he claims to have searched for months and can't figure out the command to get ARP's going manually. With the link posted their now armed with the info. Canon balls in...
Wow searching for months, you really need to work on your google-fu skills. There's no need to "kick" users off when dealing with WEP. Why not just hit the refresh button on another connected...
I'm not on my netbook right now so I can't check precisely. But there's a commented example i.e: #defoptions= . Below this is where I added the vga line. The main one to edit is: scroll down and...
I'll answer your original question more directly. Since you feel it should be simple to brute-force & asked how to implement it. Apart from researching how WPS works and specifically PIN generation....
It sounds like you haven't done much research on how WPS actually works, it's not as straight forward to "crack" as you might think. I'd suggest digging around Google, there is good information out...
I haven't seen the OP to the thread reply back, I don't know whether it was resolved or not. What I suggested was: Go into the BIOS and make sure the ethernet/wireless are enabled. Then at a prompt...
What I did was open the grub menu (/boot/grub/menu.lst), Then added "defoptions=vga=0x315" to the appropriate section.
