advice: grab a copy of ubuntu, use it for a year or two , then put your braincells to back|track, you will be needing lot's of commands using BT.
Ubuntu has it all for beginners, you dont have to...

not quite familiar with metasploit... but it could 'come handy? it would show you that what attacks would be avaible to target machine? or are metasploit made to attack only routers?

i think that this is common headache for thoes who play around with their liveCD's and dictionarys.

problem is this:

bt / # split --bytes=100m /mnt/hdc1/pass/dictionary.txt wordlist_part...

first buy quality product... USB 'cause of portability.. so i say buy ALFA and make your high gain antenna for under 20$

or buy commercial one.

my motherboard supports usb bootting :) i have had trouble with kingston pendrives and maxell (maxell is cheap, so i gave it a try = lost only 9€! now i have extra 4gb storage for my dictionarys)

Alfa 500Mw AWUS036H would be your best bet, it cost's 20€/$ than normal usb wifi (TP-LINK Ralink rt73 card: TL-WN321g = 20€) but you WONT be sadisfied by the range with lower price adapters, go...

Yes it is great for injecting, wifiway has drivers build in and i have tested it throu that, works like a charm.:D
