Re: wlan0 goes down when trying to connect

I can definitely recommend a TP-LINK TL-WN722N USB wifi card. Worked out of the box for me in BT5 R1 and R2. No muss, no fuss. It uses the AR9271 chipset and has a removable RP-SMA external antena so...

Re: wlan0 goes down when trying to connect

That Realtek RTL8188SU driver is problematic and spotty at best under BT5. Search the forums using "Realtek RTL8188SU" as a search query and you'll see what I mean. I would recommend browsing through...

Re: Wireless Card RTL8191SEvA, Trouble using Make

Judging from that last error message in your post it would appear you are either missing the kernel headers OR you haven't created the proper symlink.

First off, make sure you are connected to the...

    Re: Wireless : Killer Wireless-N1102 on BT5 U1

Looks interesting. What tests have you ran with this card? How well does it inject? Could you give some more specifics as to how you used this card?

Sorry for all the questions but I am looking to...

Re: BT 5 R2 - Ralink 2870/3070 no longer supported

According to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-bt.conf the rt2870sta and rt2860sta drivers are blacklisted. You could try whitelisting or removing them from the blacklist and see if that helps. YMMV.

    This...

    Re: Tp-link tl-wn722n

I prefer the TP-LINK wn722n because you can easily swap out the antenna whereas the TP-LINK wn822n doesn't allow you to change out the antennas.

    Re: Help, compiling error...

Looks like you need to prepare-kernel-sources at first glance.

    Just type in the command:

Check the md5 sum of the ISO. Never know if you had a corrupted copy.

    Re: TL-WA5210G and Backtrack 5.2

What does "iwconfig" without the quotes tell you?

In wicd you should look and see what you have under preferences for both wired and wireless networks. Maybe that WISP is not under eth0.

    Hey sickness,

    Thanks for the reply.

So far I just rebooted and used my Broadcom 4313 adapter(wlan0), which is my only other adapter, and so far I managed to complete two scans using Zenmap.

    Nmap/Zenmap errors (fresh install of BT5 r2)

    Hi all,

I upgraded to R2 and it fixed some lingering issues I had with nmap not being able to find my wireless card, other programs that rely on tcpdump finally work again since now they can see tcpdump.

    Tp-link tl-wn722n

Just wanted to say that TP-Link's TL-WN722N works right out of the box in BT5 R1.
