    so now i should open the archive and....

    1. copy the "iwlwifi-*.ucode" file to /lib/firmware/ ?
    2. then i should run "modprode -r iwlagn"
    3. then i should run "modprobe...

    i'm using an N-2230 as well! I have the exact same issue as well.

    i don't quite understand your instructions though.. you wouldn't be able to help me out further with this would you? thanks man.

    I should have mentioned that i'm using R3.

    anyway i just force restarted it and through terminal ran passwd root and just changed the password to something of my choosing

    worked well.

    Can anyone speculate on this?

    In my experience BT authentication is by default root:toor.
    This is a fresh copy; live on my USB.

    I went to screensaver and it locked and now it's not letting...

    Where you trying to dual boot or triple boot? KDE, Gnome and Win7?

    How did you install it and how many partitions did you make? Also where did you put your boot loader when you installed it?

    What model Macbook are you running?

    I've got a Pro 5,5 and BT5 recognizes it immediately. Boot it in live mode from a USB or disc and see if it recognises it then.

    It's not freezing man. It just takes a while to pass that 99, it tends to hang giving the impression that it has frozen. Give it some time, no more than an hour though. If your cursor still moves...
