Seems that I fixed the issue by uninstalling Ubuntu 10.04 and formatting the additional space.
I re-downloaded BT4 r1 and did a md5 check on distro.

Tested this using BTr1 on netbook connected to network via wlan0 - host pc was win7- worked like a charm

I copied BT 4 R1 on a usb key using unetbootin and installed it to a separate partition with swap. I am currently running win7/ubuntu 10.04/bt4rf1 on a tri boot setup. Boot screen manager is grub....
