is it is indeed blocked.. should say something like this:

0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft Blocked: (no/yes)

ok so heres what u do.... i had this problem at 1st too bro no biggie... go to wicd and where ur network is it should say properties click tht then go to where u type ur key.... by default its set to...

try using the connection manager under internet... and when u do tht there should be a drop down menu that says wpa change that to wep or w/e encryption u r using and make sure its the correct 1 or...

where u type the password in the manager u have to select the correct encryption i had this problem too lol

hey i had the same problem w/ a internal card on my other laptop.... try airmon-zc instead of -ng its still in dev i think but it picked up my internal card only thing is it didnt support packet...

its titled wep.sh just double click it in backtrack and run in terminal follow the on-screen prompts and usually with in 1-2 minutes u will have the password for any WEP encryption.... also included...
