I use BT3 on my Aspire One, but with the onboard wireless card and the USB Alfa.

The onboard Atheros card works fine for monitoring, capturing and injecting.

I think until some of the BT gurus get hold of these units, there wont be full support.
However everything works just fine for me when in VESA KDE...

It might be worth downloading the USB Version of BT3 again, just to ensure your current version isnt corrupt in some way.
