Nvidia does not support optimus on linux distros at this time (and never will).

optimus uses software to route nvidia gpu signals over the sandybridge iGPU which allows for the seamless...

Ok sounds like a no brainer to me then...nvidia gpu it is.

Now time to find me a laptop...
