    You cannot use you "internal" wireless card with VMware or VirtalBox in BT4 as a wireless device.

    I have the same problem booting on a usb with a thinkpad.T60 (i have checked the bios configuration, it's ok)

    The backtrack live usb is working on a eeepc4g.

    I don't think it will change simething, but you can try it.

    Did you start the networking in BT4? in a shell > /etc/init.d/networking start

    When you use virtualbox or vmware, (internal) wireless card cannot be used.

    You need a usb wifi device or to install BT on your hard drive!!!

    I think dev7 took over dev2 (boot partition for Fedora)..
