Re: New Ghost Phisher (Fake DNS, Fake HTTP e.t.c)

Looks very interesting and impressive. I'll test it out when I get a chance.

Re: Cached credentials and their salt

Indeed. They switched from LM hasing to NTLM hashing, which is considerably harder to crack.
  5. Re: Fresh Penetration Network setup(first exploit with Windows 7)

Typical home Windows machines do not run any remote network services, so generally you are not going to remotely exploit a personal-use Windows box in a real world situation. That's why you're seeing...

Re: LM Hash different on WinXP and Win7

Windows Vista and up uses NTLM for hashing, which is much more secure.

Windows XP and below uses LM hashing, which is very insecure.

Re: Little Help with Privilege Escalation Please

The exploit is always going to be a program, never just raw shellcode. The shellcode is merely a a string of pure machine code that performs a certain task (usually opens a shell, but can open...

Re: Upgraded to R2, get VBox Guest Additions Error

I'm pretty sure this wouldn't work either. This tutorial only covers Final, not R2.

Upgraded to R2, get VBox Guest Additions Error

    http://i.imgur.com/r62yL.png

I upgraded from BT4 R1 to R2, removed my current version of Guest Additions, and downloaded and installed the new one. I get this error when it boots.

    How do I fix...
  10. Re: Buffer Overflows - Help Understanding EIP and ESP Interaction

Exploits are complicated enough, but they get far more complicated when you're dealing with things like DEP, ASLR, heap spray protection, Export Address Table Access Filtering (EAF) and much more....

    Bizarre KDE Font Resizing

I'm running BT4 R1 (can't upgrade to R2 due to problems I listed in another thread) in Virtual Box.

Randomly, my KDE fonts will seemingly increase one size, with seemingly no way to fix them. I've...
  12. VBox guest additions not working on Backtrack 4 R2

I'm running Backtrack 4 R1 in Virtual Box. When I try to upgrade to the new kernel, my guest additions are disabled. I tried the following fix, posted in another thread, and it did not work:

    I...

    Re: VMware of Virtualbox

I prefer Virtual Box. It just runs faster and a lot more smoothly for me, both on boot, shutdown, and switching between host and guest OS.

    Re: New FERN WIFI CRACKER

For some reason, I can't get the ARP replay attack to work. It works fine if I try it manually in the command line. Also, Chop Chop and Fragmentation work in FERN. With ARP replay though, it just...

    Re: VNC server issue

I'd actually recommend you apt-get install x11vnc. It does exactly what you want (it does the same thing krfb does), but it's overall faster and more efficient than krfb.

    x11vnc "syncs" what...

Re: Backtrack 4r2 and Virtualbox Guest Additions

I'm running Virtual Box and was about to upgrade to R2. I'll hold off until someone can confirm Guest Additions is working though.

I'm also running Windows 7 with everything fully updated.

    Re: New FERN WIFI CRACKER

    Looks absolutely great.

I'd also recommend removing the matrix 1 and 0 background...it just kind of looks bad overall. Everything else looks great though.

Re: No Intel GMA 3150 GPU Support/Resolution

Re: free online wpa cracker project idea

    Definitely a cool idea.

Problem is, if you ever get it up and running, you are going to get an unbelievable amount of traffic. There is a ton of demand for a free WPA cracker. So, just keep that...

    Ah, interesting.

That's probably going to take some effort. Is there some guide on how to compile video drivers, across distributions?
