It's been a while since I used BT, and I need some advice..
I am trying to install BT on multi-HD system: Win 7 is installed on 500GB HD, and I want to install BT on 250GB HD - I got this part...
Dragon,
Where did you install GRUB?
The reason that I am asking, is because on my laptop, there are 2 more partitions for Win7.
try this:
iwconfig interface power off
(replace interface with your network adapter, for example wlan0 or wifi0 or whatever0)
you probably have power management turned on
Backtrack > Information Gathering > Network Analysis > Identify Live Hosts > zenmap
Type in your router IP (probably 192.168.1.1) and click scan
There might be another way to boot up without re-installing. On my PC, I can invoke "boot options" by pressing F9. See if you have thatl; it could be F10, F11 or F12 on your PC. It might let you...
This may not be info for beggners, but:
- Boot from DVD (cd? BT3?)
- mount your Bt partition
- Edit your grub file and see if it helps.
BTW, do you remember on what partition you installed GRUB?
Great program....
I am using BT4R2, and so far it's been great to me. I have 2 wireless adapters that are using rt2800usb drivers, but both adapters are showing different power readings. First adapter is Hawking HWDN1...
Mods, please delete this post, info was useless.
Did you set your BIOS to boot from DVD-drive first?
You can always get ide/sata to usb converter. Remove your HD from laptop, plug in the converter and your HD to another computer and install BT that way. It should do the trick. Those converters are...
I didn't want to sound like a >>evil do'er<< but if you're not on own network, or trying to see if your own router will reply to unknown devices, you can simply try to connect with wifi on your...
...so no wifi on your phone. This trick works for me...
Seems like it's waiting for (any) packet to re-play to router...but no one is connecting so it has nothing to re-play back.
Hint: What cell phone do you have ?
Well you answered yout own question: You installed GRUB on your primary HD. With that, you MUST have external HD plugged in order to boot into Windows or BT.
Currently, I am trying to install...
Try it with-out GRUB. It should work.
Edit: I followed my own advise, it didn't work, will re-trace my steps to see where the problem is.
Have you tried this ?
I have done same thing on my laptop, and it works.
- Boot up from DVD
- Click install.sh
- When asked where to install, do not select SDA (or any other variant of your primary HD). Your external...
I got that error when I tried to install it on external HD.
I tried to install it on 1TB HD. (it was ATA if it matters) and the error kept popping up when it reached about 30%.
When I installed it...
Did you try booting up live-dvd? Let us know if it works that way.
I get the same thing on my Compaq CQ61, everything still works fine.. I got no problems..
I got HWDN1, and I love it... range is amazing. It's RT2870.
This is what I am using, and I like it:
USB, 300N, RT2870, supports monitor, injection. Range is great.
Problem Solved. My HD was defective. I got one today, installed BT4, boots up just fine...
