I had same problem and i solved in that way :

nano /etc/network/interfaces

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

leave only that infos in the fila and save.

Esatto ragazzi, è proprio questo il punto.....se installo da ubiquity funziona tipo ubuntu, mi crea l'utente sudoer ed eseguo le applicazioni con sudo e divento root con sudo -i mettendo la password...

i start ntop with :

ntop -i eth1

or

ntop -i eth0
