Try installing msgpack
gem install msgpack
That should solve your problem.

Yes but some packages will be lost.
With the update/upgrade you will only update the packages that BT has and not the the new ones like BT1 has...

Cains the only reason is because the BT5 R1 has changed the framework path that was not my choice ;)
