I get the same error - but if i boot from the dvd there is no error, I believe is something on the fstab out of whack for usb install

Sounds To me you should re-read the rules. Ie illegal activities not condoned here. If its not yours you shouldn't mess with it.

It works great as long as you properly set it, in my case one i run

/etc/init.d/networking start and then /etc/init.d/NetworkManager start
i have to run /etc/init.d/networking start once more...
