If I'm not misunderstanding, you are doing it in a wrong way, in first screen after booting from DVD when the command prompt is stating boot: you need to just press enter, after bt5 boots...

I'm facing the same problem with the same configuration. I doubt if it is something related to the dual-boot option or not.
I even installed rEFIt but no luck so far, when trying too boot...
