I too have a 4730z! It rocks hard. The unboard wifi cracked my WEP key in under 3 minutes. BT4 runs smooth as butter as far as I've seen so far :)

eth0 no wireless extensions....

I don't think his card would show up as eth0 if it had an atheros chipset. based on this



I'm gonna go out on a limb and say your card probably doesn't support monitor...
